The Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Alumni Association Tuesday announced providing special scholarships to the students from the areas worst hit by floods with the university’s cooperation, reported 24News HD TV channel.

As per the details made available to this channel by the alumni association, the tuition fee and other expenses of the students, including those of hostel and mess, will be borne through these scholarships.

During a meeting of the alumni association, individual efforts of the QAU alumni for the relief of flood-hit people were commended.

The meeting also laid an emphasis on accelerating the efforts for aiding the flood victims, demanding that the federal and provincial governments also announce scholarships for the students in flood-hit areas.

While extending the scope of its services after 2010 floods, the alumni association also resolved to keep the scholarship process as transparent as possible.
