PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz said on Friday that when she visited Quetta on Thursday to share the grief of Hazara mourners, she was shocked to see them protesting in extreme cold with women sitting with the bodies of their loved ones, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media in Karachi during her transit stay, Maryam said everybody in Quetta was in a state of mourning. “But what else we can do except consoling the relatives of the dead,” she commented.

She added she was stunned when she heard PM Imran Khan calling the protestors ‘blackmailers’.

Maryam said this was PM Imran’s ‘incompetence’ that had led to the killings of Hazara miners in Machh.

The PML-N vice president said the protesters were anxiously waiting for PM Imran’s visit, but sadly the prime minister was ‘heartless’, and was still adamant that he would not go to Quetta until they buried their dead. “They are not asking you for a share in property,” she told Imran.

Showing photos of mourning women and girls to the media, she expressed surprise that PM Imran had the cheek to call them blackmailers.

Maryam hit out at PM Imran for linking his Quetta visit to the burial of those who were slain in Machh. “You make your visits conditional,” she said addressing the prime minister.

The PML-N vice president told PM that it was his duty to pat on the back of relatives of the deceased. “You would not be doing any favour to them if you console them,” she reminded.

She said PM Imran was a coward who was reluctant to visit Quetta due to security concerns.  “If you are so much afraid of any reaction from the Hazara people, then why did you choose to become country’s prime minister?” she questioned.

She said there was bad governance in the country and that the country’s economy had collapsed under PM Imran.

Addressing the country’s establishment, she asked as to why they imposed an incompetent person on the people as their prime minister.

She said sarcastically that Imran Khan had plenty of time to play with his pet dogs, but not for Hazara community.

She reiterated that the prime minister was not in a position to give NRO to the opposition.
