Senior journalists and analysts have deliberated upon the NAB ordinance,   PTI core committee meeting and Pakistan Cricket Board's betterment plan during the 24NewsHD TV channel programme, DNA.

The government itself wants to get an NRO through the NAB ordinance. Salim Bokhari, Iftikhar Ahmed, PJ Mir and Javed Iqbal opined.

The government has always used the presidential ordinance factory to achieve its goals in violating the constitution and the law, they maintained.

Salim Bokhari said the legislation is not being taken to the parliament and the government amended the NAB Ordinance to extend NAB chief term in a bid to get a stay order.

PJ Mir said that it is not permanent, Prime Minister Imran Khan does not have good relations with the opposition and this ordinance will come to the parliament. Iftikhar Ahmed too cast doubt about the government's intentions. Salim Bukhari said this is not an amendment but a new law that should be rejected at all levels. He said that 70% of the cases against the opposition have been build up by this government.

Javed Iqbal said the prosecutor general would decide whether a case could be instituted or not and NAB could not take action against the MPs.

Iftikhar Ahmed said that this ordinance should be applicable from 2001. He added that PM Imran Khan is doing everything thoughtfully and the premier has so much power that he can bulldoze anything in the parliament. Salim Bokhari said even if this ordinance is passed by the National Assembly, it cannot happen in the Senate.

Deliberated upon PTI core committee meeting in which PM Imran Khan urged his team to convince the people that there is no inflation in the country, Iftikhar Ahmed cited minister Ali Amin Gandapur as saying flour is expensive, so eat less and use less sugar too.

Salim Bokhari said that the minister is unaware of the people's plight. Javed Iqbal said the ministers do not know what the prices of food items are as they never bought such stuff.  Salim Bokhari said that the entire government is turning a blind eye to the bitter realities. He questioned PM's citation of inflation in other countries saying if the premier is trying to 'satisfy' the people.

About the policies of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Rameez Raja for the betterment of cricket, PJ Mir seconded the board chief's statement that India funds the ICC while the Pakistani board is funded.
