Once again denying that an incident of gang-rape took place in one of the factories of Artistic Milliners Private (Limited) in Korangi, DIG Karachi-East on Thursday warned those spreading such ‘fake’ news on social media of action, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his explanation, DIG Muqaddas Haider said that after hearing reports of gang-rape of a girl after administering her some intoxicants, he had constituted two committees under the supervision of SSP District Korangi and SSP Investigation to probe the incident. “But neither any proof of the rape could be found nor any girl came up with the complaint that she had been subjected to gang-rape,” he said, adding, “No person approached the police as a witness in the case either.” 

The DIG went on to add that the police had also requested the Cyber Crime Unit to find out those behind fake news campaign so that action could be taken against them.
