A woman having French nationality died mysteriously at Canal Garden Society in Hafizabad city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

It has been reported that Khola Ashraf, 45, became friends with Pakistani national Imran Gujjar, a Hafizabad resident, on social media two years ago. The social media friendship turned into marriage and the woman came to Pakistan and they tied the knot.

The TV channel quoting family sources reported that the couple had frequent quarrels.

The body of the woman was recovered from the room of the house in the morning and the exact reason for her death would be known after a post-mortem, police said.

The woman’s husband, however, told police that Khola died after falling from the stairs.
