CTD kills two wanted terrorists in Mardan

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Mardan region Thursday carried out an operation in the Risalpur Police station area and killed two terrorists during crossfire, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Counter Terrorism Department Mardan Region received a confirmed tip about an organized group of terrorists living in the area of Risalpur Police Station in Misri Banda in the Nowshera District. CTD was told that the group was involved in various terrorist activities and are in this area for another major activity.

The operation team was fired upon and attacked with a hand grenade as soon as they reached the spot. Saving themselves, the CTD soldiers started retaliatory firing in order to save themselves and arrest the terrorists. An exchange of firing continued for a long time and a Search and Clearance operation was initiated after the firing stopped. During the search and clearance operation, two terrorist bodies were found while two escaped in the dark.

The alleged terrorists were identified as Muhammad Zeeshan alias Usman son of Khair Pasand who was a resident of Charsadda district and Salmanalias Amarati son of Habib Gul who was a resident of Budh Bir Peshawar.

Both the culprits were wanted by the CTD Mardan for involvement in various serious cases of terrorism. They were also involved in the targeted killing of Senior Medical technician Abdul Tawab, the martyrdom of constable Bilal and constable Muzamil Shah in Umarzai Charsadda and constable Zarmast in the Tangi area of Charsadda. They were also wanted for attacking police with hand grenades and extortion. Both of them belonged to illegal terrorist organizations.

The police force reached the spot and started search and clearance operation in the area to arrest the escaped terrorists.
