Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan has rubbished the news reports about shortage of oil in the major cities of Punjab, stating that all petrol pumps have sufficient supply of fuel for 20 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a presser on Thursday, Chairman Tariq Wazir and Senior Vice Chairman Tariq Mehmood said that false reports of fuel scarcity are being spread by some individuals.

They asserted that there is no shortage of fuel in the market and that they are doing everything in their power to guarantee the supply of petrol.

There is neither patchy fuel availability, nor is the fuel being sold at exorbitant rates, they added.

They also disregarded the claims of fuel hoarding and said that one can buy as much petrol as he or she wants.

They mentioned that up to 700,000 tons oil per month is used throughout Pakistan and requested hoarders to stop hoarding and robbing the fuel.
