Woman, three children die in Karachi wall collapse

A woman and her three children died when a wall of their house collapsed in Karachi on Thursday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the Rescue officials, the incident occurred in the MPR Colony of Orangi Town when the family was sleeping.

The dead bodies have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

It may be mentioned here that a thunderstorm had lashed Karachi late Wednesday night, inundating low-lying roads and other areas in different parts of the city.

The thundershower struck at around 1:30 am and battered windows. The low-lying spots on Shahrah-e-Faisal were inundated by 2 am. There were similar reports from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Nazimabad.

The Met Office has forecast rains for Karachi from September 9 to September 11. Other districts in Sindh are also likely to receive rain. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a rain alert across the country.
