Govt hikes levy on petroleum products

The government on Saturday increased levy on the petroleum products, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the official sources, the levy on high-speed diesel was increased by Rs5 to Rs50 per litre.
The levy on petrol has also been fixed at Rs50 per litre.
It merits a mention here that sales tax on the petroleum products is zero.
