Key police and civil officers transferred
The federal government on Wednesday notified a number of high-level transfers and postings, issuing formal notifications through the Establishment Division.
According to the orders concerning officers of the Police Service of Pakistan, Grade 21 officer Saad Akhtar has been transferred from the National Highways and Motorway Police and appointed Commandant of the National Police Academy. Meanwhile, the services of Commandant Muhammad Idrees Ahmed have been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
In another key move, Additional IG Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui (Grade 21), who was awaiting posting, has been assigned to the National Highways and Motorway Police. Additionally, Shahjahan (Grade 19) has been transferred from the FIA to the Government of Sindh, while Fazal Hamid (Grade 19) has been moved from the National Police Academy to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The services of Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk have been transferred to the Government of Punjab. Notably, he was recently promoted to Grade 19 on acting charge.
Separately, Sajjad Safdar has been appointed Director Industrial and Commercial Relations and Member of the Pakistan Ordnance Factories Board. He previously served as Managing Director (Technical) at Pakistan Ordnance Factories Sanjwal. His new role will be effective from March 6, 2026, until his retirement on October 16, 2029.
Among Secretariat Group officers (Grade 19), Deputy Secretary Natiq Hussain Shah has been transferred from the Water Resources Division to the Ministry of Communications. Abdul Karim Rind, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Water Resources Division, while Faisal Karim Qureshi has been posted as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.
Furthermore, Deputy Secretary Tooba Batool has been relieved from the Ministry of Communications and her services returned to her parent department.
All appointments and transfers have been formalized through official notifications issued by the Establishment Division.
