PPP, PML-N join hands for AJK reserved seats

The opposition parties – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) – 
Sunday agreed to join hands in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) election for two seats reserved for women.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, former premier AJK Raja Farooq Haider contacted PPP AJK leaders Chaudhry Latif Akbar and agreed to support each other on the reserved seats for women.
Both the Kashmiri leaders of PPP and PML-N also agreed to support each other for the slot of Speaker and Deputy Speaker elections against ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had already received a majority in the AJK.
The sources said after the agreement of cooperation in the elections of reserved seats in AJK, it was being expected that the PPP and the PML-N would succeed two women seats, one for each party.
It has already been cleared that the PTI would form its government in the AJK after getting a majority in the House and the PPP who had won 11 seats and the PML-N with six seats sit on the opposition benches.
Opposition sources said that the seat of Leader of the Opposition would be allotted to the PPP has more seats than any other party in the AJK assembly.
After this decision of cooperation on the reserves seats, the PPP decided to give its two spare votes to the PML-N for getting an extra seat of women to it.
The PTI would now receive three reserved seats for women in the AJK assembly and other two remaining reserved seats for women would go to the opposition parties—the PPP and the PML-N.
