The second season of the PCB Talent Hunt Programme for Schools is set to begin with the opening match between Beaconhouse School and Aitchison College at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, 19 September. A total of 1400 schools from 100 districts across Pakistan will be taking part in the 2026-27 edition of the event.
On Saturday, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi will grace the occasion as chief guest and will officially inaugurate the second season of the tournament. According to Chairman’s vision the reach of the tournament has been expanded from 39 districts and 450 schools. The best performing school cricketers will be integrated into PCB’s age-group and pathways system.
Following the conclusion of the opening match, the PCB has also arranged a musical concert of the renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to entertain the fans. Entry will be free to the stadium on Saturday for both the opening match and the musical concert.
The PCB has for the second consecutive season activated the school cricket ecosystem with substantial financial and personnel investment across the country. PCB’s regional and district coaches held trials in schools across the country, which were then followed by training camps for all schools in August and September.
For the tournament, the PCB has also arranged multiple venues for the schools which did not own a ground. A number of schools were also provided cricket kits along with playing kits.
