Three killed in Okara as two groups exchange fire over sand contract payments

Three people died in a fight between two groups near Sadar police station in the 32-Tol area over collecting money from trolleys carrying sand, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to police officials, the two groups had been involved in a dispute over sand contract payments, which later turned into a bloody incident.

District Police Officer (DPO) Rashid Hidayat reached the scene along with a heavy contingent of police.

Police arrested five suspects involved in the incident, while raids were carried out to arrest the remaining accused.

Hidayat said the arrested suspects would be punished according to the law, and those responsible for the loss of human lives would be dealt with strictly.
