Goods transporters reject hike in prices of petrol, diesel products

The Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance (PGTA) rejected the hefty rise in petroleum products, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

President of Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance Malik Shahzad Awan said that the current government dropped a petrol bomb on the common man in the darkness of night.

He further said that the time has come to hit the streets against the increase in prices of petroleum products as it has become impossible for them to run their business in this inflation.

We will ‘resist’ the decision and devise a strategy in this context, Malik Shahzad Awan said.

Earlier on Monday night, the federal government increased petrol and diesel prices for the next fortnight.

According to details, the government has increased the petrol price by Rs8.36 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs10.39 per litre.

The Finance Ministry has issued a notification in this regard and the new petrol and diesel prices will take effect on Monday night.

According to the notification, the new price of high-speed diesel from Tuesday will be R272.98 and petrol Rs266.79 per litre.
