Indian airlines' losses touch Rs1,500 million as 700 flights hit by Pakistan's airspace ban

Indian airlines have lost more than Rs1,500 million in just one week as Pakistan keeps its airspace closed for Indian flights on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to data, over 700 flights have been affected so far as Pakistan’s closure of its airspace to Indian airlines is forcing Indian carriers to alter some routes that link India to Europe, North America, Central Asia, and the Middle East. 

This is the eighth day since Pakistan closed its airspace for India. Moreover, Passengers traveling to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Amritsar now have to pay extra money for their tickets. This has made the situation even more difficult for airlines. 

The airspace closure is causing huge financial and travel problems for India, and there is no clear solution yet. The longer flights also mean that airline staff have to work longer hours, which is creating more pressure on the crew. Many connecting flights are being delayed.
