Four AJK women outclass men in CSS 2025 exams

Four women from Azad Kashmir have made history by passing the Central Superior Services (CSS) 2025 examination, while no male candidate from the region was able to qualify, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.

According to the report, the successful candidates of the Central Superior Services (CSS) 2025 include Aniqa Fatima, Aiman Asad, Waleejah Nisar and Saba Shah Rom.

Among them, Aiman Asad, who is an orphan, achieved success with the support of her mother, whose efforts were described as key to her achievement.

According to details, Aniqa Fatima belongs to Kotli Fatehpur Thakiala and has been recommended for appointment as an assistant in the Pakistan Customs Service.

Aiman Asad, from Muzaffarabad, has been selected for the post of Assistant Commissioner Inland Revenue.

Waleejah Nisar, who belongs to Jhelum Valley, has been recommended for the Commerce and Trade Group, while Saba Shah Rom from Rawalakot Bangoin has been allocated to the Office Management Group.

The results of the CSS 2025 examination were announced by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), showing an overall success rate of 2.67 per cent.

A total of 12,792 candidates appeared in the examination, but only 355 passed the written stage. The commission recommended 170 candidates for appointment, including 84 men and 86 women.

The results were issued after a delay, as officials had earlier stated that the final outcome would be announced in April 2026 due to pending decisions on vacancies.

The CSS examinations were held last year, and interviews have already been completed. The written results were announced on 22 August 2025, with a pass rate of 2.77 per cent.

Officials said the final number of vacancies for this year was confirmed recently. A total of 327 posts will be filled, including 191 new vacancies and 136 carried over from previous years.

The distribution includes 169 seats on open merit, 35 reserved for women and 123 for minorities.

Punjab has been allocated 157 posts, followed by 43 for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 30 for Sindh Rural, 28 for Sindh Urban and 28 for Balochistan.

Further allocations include 16 posts for former tribal areas, seven for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and three for Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

The vacancies cover key services such as the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service, Foreign Service, Inland Revenue Service and the Office Management Group.

Officials said the final appointment of candidates will be based on merit, individual preferences and suitability, in line with the quota policy of the Establishment Division.
