The spread of poliovirus has increased to an alarming level in Pakistan as two more poliovirus cases were reported from Bannu and North Waziristan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

According to the National Emergency Operations Center, the total number of polio cases in 2026 has increased to 3.

Targeted measures and effective strategies are being implemented to eradicate polio.

Polio is an incurable disease, but it can be prevented through timely vaccination.

It is essential to vaccinate children during every campaign to protect against polio.

A special anti-polio campaign will be organized in specific districts across the country this month.

About 19 million children will be vaccinated during the anti-polio campaign.
