Prime Minister Imran Khan and his team have come under fire for adding to public woes. During 24NewHD TV Channel programme – DNA – Salim Bokhari, Iftikhar Ahmed, PJ Mir and Javed Iqbal criticised the government for the unbearable situation of inflation and the failure to address it.

Salim Bokhari said as soon as the present government came to power, there was talk of bringing an economic revolution in 90 days due to which the expectations of the people have increased and now the people are crying for basic amenities.

He questioned if any government representative can make a budget for a common person. Javed Iqbal said direct foreign investment is not coming from anywhere, resulting in worsening the situation. He also questioned under which law Shaukat Tareen is becoming a senator.

PJ Mir said that everyone in Pakistan is afraid of NAB, there is no authority, local administration is not active in price control.

He mentioned a high current account deficit as a reason for rampant inflation and stressed that there is no authority, local administration is not active for price control.

PML-N leadership split issue also came under discussion. Iftikhar Ahmed said that Maryam Nawaz's statement is not wrong but when she is asked to go to the committees of the parliament, she objected.

Iftikhar Ahmed said that the differences are not only in PML-N, but the ruling PTI also is facing such issues, he said citing Pervez Khattak group's concerns at the plight of the people of their areas.

Salim Bokhari said that Nawaz Sharif is now talking about reconciliation but the way his daughter is talking meaningfully has already harmed the party. Nowhere in the world, a person who stands against the Establishment and then let get govern the state affairs, he added. Javed Iqbal said that Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made it clear to everyone that just Nawaz Sharif's statement will work and no one's statement has any significance.

Analysts were of the view that Karachi's problems are not just a matter for the Sindh government.  The federal government must play an effective role in solving Karachi's serious problems, they insisted.  PJ Mir said Karachi is below sea level that is why the matter is too complicated.  Karachi can sink, drainage is not here, roads are not here, sewerage system is not there, he added. Iftikhar Ahmed said that there should be a competent disaster management structure in Karachi.
