A large number of students held a protest demonstration opposite the National Press Club against the closure of hostels located in residential areas of Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

During the demonstration, the protesting students demanded that the government suspend orders of hostel closure in residential areas.

A heavy contingent of police reached outside the National Press Club to maintain the law and order situation.

On September 29, 2025, students of Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad faced severe hardships as the administration locked the transport point due to a protest call by the Baloch Students Council (BSC).

The central library, admin office, and other departments, however, started operations, but the transport and teaching system remained suspended.

The heads of other student organizations distanced themselves from the protest call. The heads of the Students Council belonged to Punjab, Sindh, Gilgit, Saraiki, and Pushton.
