Massive fire breaks out in Khairpur’s Civil Hospital

Electricity supply to Civil Hospital Khairpur was suspended after a massive fire erupted in the hospital on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, the fire broke out in the electricity control room of the Civil Hospital.

Due to the suspension of electricity, patients and their attendants faced huge difficulties.

The hospital’s administration and relevant department personnel are trying to bring the fire under control.

Measures are also being taken to restore the electricity supply to the hospital.

It is necessary to mention here that a fire safety assessment of 22 government hospitals across Sindh has found significant gaps in emergency preparedness, including missing fire alarms and water sprinklers at several major medical facilities.

The assessment was directed by Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho after hospitals were asked to submit reports on their fire safety arrangements.

Sources said the reports also revealed that complete fire safety data was not provided for several major medical institutions.
