Tareen group officially announces its support for Hamza Shehbaz

The Jehangir Khan Tareen Group on Saturday officially announced that its members would support PML-N nominee Hamza Shehbaz in Punjab Assembly election for the slot of Punjab chief minister, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Hamza is holding meetings these days with PTI disgruntled members and independents ahead of election for the Leader of the House in Punjab Assembly as the house meets today (Saturday).

He met with the JKT MPAs today along with other party leaders including Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Khawaja Salman Rafiq and Ata Ullah Tarar. From the JKT group side, Aun Chaudhry, Aslam Bharwana, Faisal Jeewana and Malik Nauman Lagrial participated in the meeting.  

After the meeting, the JKT group officially announced their support for Hamza. 

The PML-N nominee on his part showed his gratitude to the members of Tareen group for their support. He alleged that rate of corruption was being set at the CM secretariat. He boasted that the joint opposition had acquired majority in both Centre and Punjab.

He vowed that his government would again open path for development for Punjab. We will resume from where former chief minister Shehbaz Sharif had left, he added. 

Hamza lamented that the cruel government had ruined country’s economy. He said people were dying of hunger and they were wishing ill for the Imran government. 

He deplored that people’s homes were demolished while the premier regularized his Bani Gala Palace. 

On this occasion, JKT group member Nauman Langrial said that the group was united under the leadership of Jehangir Tareen. We will support Hamza in Punjab Assembly, he added. He condemned that Imran Khan registered FIRs against their wives and children. The government attacked our group member, he rued.

Langrial was of the view that the JKT group after analyzing the current political situation thoroughly, reached the conclusion to support the PML-N. 

He said the Tareen group had been behaving like opposition while being part of the government. 

Earlier, Hamza Shehbaz reached Lagrial House in Lahore to meet the JKT leaders. 

Meanwhile, JKT member Salman Naeem said that the group has decided to back the PML-N nominee, Hamza. We have 19 MPAs and PML-N’s Ishaq Dar has already let everybody know of our group’s decision through his tweet, Naeem added.
