Subsidy on petrol for motorcyclists

The government has unveiled a series of relief measures aimed at easing the burden of rising fuel prices on motorcyclists, farmers, and the transport sector, according to key cabinet members.

Petroleum Minister announced that motorcycle users will receive a reduction of Rs 100 per liter on petrol, along with a monthly allocation of 20 liters. The subsidy is intended to provide immediate relief to millions of daily commuters who rely on two-wheelers.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb confirmed that motorcyclists will benefit from a Rs 100 per liter subsidy for a period of three months. He further stated that a cap of 100 liters has been imposed, while each motorcyclist will be eligible for 20 liters of subsidized petrol per month.

In addition to relief for commuters, the government has also announced support for the agricultural sector. According to Muhammad Aurangzeb, landlords will receive a subsidy of Rs 1,500 per acre. However, this subsidy will be granted only once per acre.

The transport sector has also been included in the relief package. Goods vehicles will be provided a subsidy of Rs 100 per liter on fuel for a period of one month, aiming to control rising transportation costs and prevent further increases in commodity prices.

These measures come as part of the government’s broader efforts to cushion the economic impact of high fuel prices and provide targeted relief to key segments of society.
