PHC Chief Justice Atiq Shah inaugurates Judicial Complex in Karak

Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC), Justice Atiq Shah, visited Karak Tuesday and formally inaugurated the newly established Judicial Complex, marking a significant milestone for local judicial infrastructure.

During the inauguration ceremony, District and Sessions Judge Shabbir Ali Shah delivered the welcome address, noting that the facility currently houses 18 courts and that its library is being updated to better serve legal practitioners and the public.

Officials emphasised that the judicial complex will continue to be upgraded and modernized over time. Planned enhancements include a gym, a walking track, a dedicated room for women, installation of a solar energy system, and an express-line power connection to ensure reliable electricity.

In his address, Chief Justice Atiq Shah said that delivering justice to the people is the judiciary’s core responsibility.

“When we look around, we feel we are doing justice, but we do not always see justice,” he remarked, underscoring the need for transparent and equitable legal processes.

Justice Atiq Shah announced that Rs 2.5 billion has been allocated for the development and strengthening of the Karak judicial complex.

He also directed that sheds and walkways be built for the Bar Association and reaffirmed instructions for installing a solar energy system to ensure uninterrupted operations.
