First-ever ulnar nerve operation carried out in Sindh

For the first time, Dr Pir Asad, a neurosurgeon at Civil Hospital Hyderabad, successfully carried out an ulnar nerve operation free of cost, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
A 40-year-old woman from Nasarpur was injured that damaged her elbow that affected her hands' nerves too. “The woman underwent surgery free of cost and recovered immediately,” Dr Pir Asad said.
He further added that the cost of this surgery in a private hospital is more than one million rupees. The operation was conducted with the help of modern technology.
Ulnar nerve release surgery is a procedure for cubital tunnel syndrome – also known as ulnar nerve entrapment. Cutibal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which nearby tissue puts pressure on the nerve inside the cubital tunnel, a narrow space through which the ulnar nerve passes around the elbow.
