Qatar introduces 10-year residency visa for entrepreneurs, senior executives

Qatar will introduce a 10-year residency programme for business owners and senior executives, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said the Gulf state steps up efforts to attract skilled professionals and investors.

Al Thani said the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) would also expand its venture capital programme to $2 billion, doubling the size of its existing “Fund of Funds” initiative.

The Fund of Funds, currently valued at $1 billion, was established to attract international venture capital firms to Qatar, foster entrepreneurship and strengthen the country’s startup ecosystem.

Qatar, one of the world’s leading exporters of liquefied natural gas, has been accelerating reforms to make its economy more competitive and investment-friendly.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have already rolled out long-term residency schemes in recent years, offering extended visas to skilled professionals, entrepreneurs and investors as part of their economic transformation strategies.
