Arif Mehdi, the elder son of Shahanshah-e-Ghazal late Mehdi Hassan, passed away in Karachi on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

He will be laid to rest at Muhammad Shah graveyard in North Karachi beside his late father today (Saturday) following his funeral prayer at Ancholi after Asr prayers.   

The deceased, who has been suffering from diabetes for a long time and passed away due to high blood pressure, was planning to pay a grand tribute to his father.

Arif was the founding father of Mehdi Hassan Foundation. He also served as a manager of his late father. 

He was also quite popular in the community of artistes. He was also a drummer and organized various variety shows in his life.
