♦ Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan's armed forces are ever ready, not only to defend every inch of our motherland but to take the fight back to the enemy if ever, war is imposed on us. COAS said any misconception resulting in a misadventure will always be met with the full might of our armed forces backed by a resilient nation and Indian state will never be able to achieve her nefarious designs. He said the world must ensure justice and deliver what is promised to the Kashmiri people as per UN resolutions

♦ Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf chairman Imran Khan again taking U-turn has announced that they will dissolve Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies in the current month and go for elections. A day ago, the former prime minister had invited the ruling collation to talk over the possibility of early elections.

♦ Interior Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) central leader Rana Sanaullah has said that former premier Imran Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan cannot force them into negotiations with a threatening tone, adding that not a single condition of Khan will be accepted if he wants negotiations. Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said that abuses and negotiations cannot move side by side. Will Imran Khan take a step back from his fake narrative for the sake of negotiations, he questioned.

♦ The Punjab police remained a silent spectator when a citizen was badly thrashed and beaten by PTI activists for raising slogans against Imran Khan outside his residence at Zaman Park in Lahore. The thrashing and beating of a citizen by the PTI workers suggest that the rabble-rousers in London could not bear a single slogan in Lahore.

♦ Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said Imran Khan was removed democratically and it is futile to have any hope from him. He said that Imran Khan came to Sukkur during the flood and left after eating. They He said they are ready for the municipal elections and will address the reservations of MQM.

♦ Polling in the second phase of local government (LG) elections in Azad Kashmir, except for a few minor incidents at some polling stations, ended peacefully trending with a very high turnover in four districts of Poonch division. According to AJK Election Commission, more than one million voters had used their right of franchise in four districts of the Poonch division namely Sudhanoti, Bagh, Poonch (Rawalakot), and Haveli to elect 875 councilors of local bodies on general seats.

♦ Waqar Mehdi of Pakistan People’s Party has been elected senator unopposed on a seat vacated by PPP’s Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar. Waqar Mehdi became senator-elect after MQM-Pakistan withdrew its candidate. PPP’s covering candidate Aajiz Dhamra said that the MQM-P can join Sindh cabinet anytime.

♦ The police have nominated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Fazal Elahi in an FIR over staging a protest demonstration in the red zone of Peshawar. Police approached the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly speaker to clear the path for the arrest of the lawmaker. While commenting on his nomination in the FIR, Fazal said that he is in Peshawar and will face the cases, adding that he doesn’t care about his detention.
