Five dacoits killed in Quetta, Lahore, Jhang encoutners

Five dacoits, including one drug-peddler, were gunned down during police encounters in Quetta, Lahore and Jhang, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday

The first police encounter took place in the Jinnah Town area of Balochistan capital, where three unidentified dacoits were roaming with the obvious intention to commit dacoity.

After noticing the police team, the dacoits opened fire. During the exchange of fire, three dacoits died.

The police shifted the dead bodies of dacoits to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.

In another police encounter in Lahore, an under-custody accused Zahid Iqbal was killed. Police said that they were taking the accused Zahid Iqbal to the Chung area of Lahore for recovery.

On their way, some accomplices of the accused started firing on the CCD team in a bid to free him from custody.

During the exchange of fire, Zahid was hit by bullets and died. Police said that the dead accused was involved in various criminal including drug-selling cases.

CCD police constituted different teams to apprehend the accomplices of the accused.

In another police encounter in Jhang, a police constable was injured, and a drug-peddler Safdar alias Safdari Gutt, was killed by the firing of his accomplices.

The encounter took place near a protective embankment in the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station, Jhang.

Police said that some accused were riding a motorcycle. When the police signaled them to stop, they started firing on the police team.

In retaliation, one accused, Safdar alias Safdari Gutt, was killed by the firing of his accomplices. 

His other accomplices escaped from the area, taking advantage of the darkness. The dead accused Safdar alias Safdari Gutt was involved in eleven criminal cases, including drug-selling.

Police said that the accused was involved in firing on the police team in the past. The police constituted various police teams to apprehend the accomplices of the accused.
