PM directs bidding for PIA privatization should be broadcast live on Dec 23

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that in order ensure the transparency and merit in the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines, the bidding for privatisation will be broadcast live on TV across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was talking representatives of all business figures and companies participating in the privatization of PIA. PIA's bidding will be held on December 23, 2025, which will be broadcast live on all media. 

The PM said the privatisation process was smoothly underway to restore PIA's lost identity and align the national airline with contemporary requirements. Prime Minister said Insha Allah, soon PIA will once again start living up to its tradition of "Great People to Fly With". 

The PM said the resumption of PIA flights worldwide will facilitate overseas Pakistanis. He said it was also essential to adapt the national airline to modern requirements for the development of Pakistan's tourism sector. 

Hopefully, whoever among you will take up this important responsibility after the bidding will focus his full energies on restoring the image of the national airline and its development. 

Prime Minister office said the meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attaullah Tarar, Azam Nazir Tarar, Sardar Owais Khan Leghari, Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani, Advisor to the Prime Minister Muhammad Ali, Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar and relevant senior officials. All bidders participating in the PIA bidding participated in the meeting.
