Policeman, friend shot dead in Khyber

A policeman and his friend lost their lives when unidentified assailants opened fire on them in the Bara area of Khyber, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The incident happened in the jurisdiction of Milward Police Station in Bara tehsil of the Khyber tribal district.

It was learnt that the police constable Tauseef Khan and his friend Abdul Mat Khan were on their way when unidentified bike riders opened fire on them in the Milward area of Akakhel. Both lost their lives on the spot. 

The accused escaped after committing the crime. Soon after the incident, the police reached the place and took the bodies into custody. 

Later, Namaz-e-Janaza of the martyred policeman was offered in Shahkas Police Line, which was attended by a large number of people.

A search was launched, but no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
