Naeem Bukhari sparks debate with ‘Blunt Recollection’ of his mother's final days
Pakistani television personality and lawyer Naeem Bukhari has come under fire after a video of him candidly recalling the deaths of his parents went viral on social media. His matter of fact tone and laughter while narrating the incidents sparked mixed reactions online, with many viewers criticizing the way he spoke about such deeply personal moments.
In the viral clip, Naeem Bukhari shared that he did not cry when his mother passed away because she had been seriously ill for a long time.
Recalling one incident, he said:
"I did not cry when my mother died because she had been sick for a very long time. Once she was in a coma, and I went to the hospital with my wife. I said in Punjabi, 'For God's sake, either recover or pass away.'"
He further recalled that his wife was shocked by the remark.
"My wife said, 'What are you saying? Have some shame. What if she could hear you?' I replied that I genuinely meant it. We all have to die accept it."
While narrating the story, Naeem laughed, a reaction that drew criticism from many social media users.
He then went on to describe his father's passing, saying it happened peacefully and unexpectedly.
"But my father died in five seconds. He simply leaned his head back, and that was it. What a way to go."
The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, where users expressed contrasting opinions. While some believed Bukhari's remarks came across as insensitive, others interpreted them as an honest reflection on accepting the inevitability of death.

Another wrote, "In psychology, sometimes laughter can be a way of masking pain. I agree that we all have to die. Healing and death are in Allah's hands, and preferring quality of life over prolonged suffering shouldn't be criticized."
