155 flights from Pakistan to Middle East cancelled today
Number of flights called off during last four days rises to 600
Due to tense situation in the Middle East, flight operations have been severely affected across Pakistan airports and even today (Tuesday), 155 flights to the Gulf states were cancelled, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The latest flight cancellations raised the total number of flights called off during the last four days to over 600.
While over 16,000 flights from Middle East have been cancelled during the last four days.
In Pakistan, 38 flights from Karachi, 32 from Lahore, 36 from Islamabad, 16 from Peshawar, 13 from Sialkot, eight from Faisalabad, 10 from Multan and two flights from Quetta were cancelled today (Tuesday).
Passengers stranded at Abu Dhabi and Dubai airports were repatriated by 34 flights.
On average, if 160 passengers travel per flight then in total 2.6 million passengers were affected by the conflict.
Airspace and flight operations of eight countries are still closed today.
Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Kuwait and Bahrain airports are the most affected.
Over 10,000 flights from seven major airports in the Middle East have been cancelled.
As many as 1,600 flights were cancelled in four days from Tel Aviv Airport in Israel as well.
About 828 flights from Jordan, 500 flights from Beirut and Haifa airports were cancelled while 875 flights from Damascus, Najaf, Basra and other airports were cancelled.
Due to the continuous airspace closure, 1,000 flights from Iranian airports were also cancelled.
Several flights were cancelled at Islamabad International Airport on Tuesday due to the worsening security situation in the Middle East.
According to flight schedule, AirBlue flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been cancelled while PIA’s flight to Dubai has also been cancelled.
Further, FlyDubai flight to Dubai managed to depart late at night while AirSial flight to Dammam was also cancelled.
Moreover, Qatar Airways flight to Doha failed to take off for the third consecutive day while Emirates flight to Dubai was also cancelled and Etihad Air’s flight to Abu Dhabi was also cancelled.
Similarly, Dubai flight to Dubai at 12 noon was also cancelled while FlyJinnah flight to Sharjah was also called off and PIA flight to Doha has also been cancelled.
