Pakistan test-launches surface-to-surface Abdali missile

Amid the simmering border tensions with India, Pakistan on Saturday carried out a successful test-launching of the ground-to-ground Abdali missile, with a range of 450 kilometres, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to a statement released by the ISPR, Pakistan has successfully conducted a training launch of the surface-to-surface ballistic missile “Abdali” as part of exercise Indus. 

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said the missile launch was aimed at ensuring the operational readiness of troops and validating key technical parameters, including the missile’s advanced navigation system and enhanced manoeuvrability features.

The training launch was witnessed by the commander Army Strategic Forces Command, senior officials from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Strategic Forces Command, as well as scientists and engineers from Pakistan’s Strategic Organisations, the ISPR added.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and services chiefs extended their congratulations to the participating troops, scientists, and engineers.

"They expressed complete confidence in the operational preparedness and technical proficiency of Pakistan’s Strategic Forces to ensure credible minimum deterrence and safeguard national security against any aggression," the ISPR said.

The launch has come at a time when tension between nuclear-armed neighbours Pakistan and India is high following the Pahalgam attack in the Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. 

Mohsin Naqvi congratulates scientists

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has congratulated Pakistani scientists and engineers on the successful test of the Abdali surface-to-surface missile, calling it a remarkable achievement in the country’s defence capabilities.

The Abdali missile, with a range of 450 kilometres, was successfully tested, showcasing the technical excellence and professional skills of Pakistan’s scientific community.

Minister Naqvi praised the achievement and said that the engineers and scientists had once again proven their unmatched expertise in missile technology.

“This successful test is a proud milestone. Our scientists and engineers have demonstrated exceptional technical mastery and professionalism once again,” he said

He added that this advancement represents another landmark in Pakistan’s missile development program and further strengthens the country’s strategic defence systems.

“The credit for this success goes to our strategic institutions and security forces, whose efforts have made Pakistan’s defence unshakable,” the interior minister emphasized.

Minister Naqvi also stated confidently that no enemy can dare look at Pakistan with ill intent, thanks to its strong deterrent and capable defence systems.

The test comes as part of Pakistan’s continued efforts to enhance its strategic and conventional capabilities to ensure national security and regional stability.
