Opposition parties rejected Prime Minister Imran Khan’s announcements to give a relief package to 20 million people only and demanded a resignation on his failure to control inflation.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Spokesperson Shazia Marri and Opposition Leader in Senate Sherri Rehman said the address of the PM to the nation was nothing but lies.
The PPP spokesperson said PM Imran had no knowledge of the per capita income in the United States, Germany and Turkey.
Sherry said that not only the 20 million but 220 million people of Pakistan had a need to get a relief package to meet their necessities in the current high inflation in the country.
The Senator said that sugar would have not been reached at the rate of Rs120 per kilogram if subsidy could successfully reduce the inflation in Pakistan.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb in a response to the PM’s address to the nation demanded him to resign as he was responsible for the economic catastrophe.
The PML-N spokesperson said PM Imran had given nothing to the people of Pakistan but the hunger and the unemployment.
Maryam also announced a boycott of the Parliamentary National Security Committee meeting and demanded the government to publicize its agreement with the banned religious organization, Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).
