Light to heavy rain in parts of Punjab, KP, AJK turn weather cooler
The twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and different parts of the Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) received light to heavy rain during the last 24 hours, flooding roads and inundating low-lying areas besides turning the weather cooler, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Heavy rain lashed Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Narowal and other cities of Punjab.
In Islamabad, the highest amount of rainfall was recorded in the city area, totaling 100 millimeters.
The amount of rainfall recorded in other parts of the federal capital is as under:
Golra 77 millimeters, Bokra 58 millimeters, Saidpur 45 millimeters and airport 24 millimeters.
In Rawalpindi, the highest amount of rainfall was recorded in New Katarian, totaling 64 millimeters, followed by Pir Wadhai, which received 44 millimeters of rain.
Similarly, Shamsabad received 31 millimeters of rain, Gawalmandi 24 millimeters, Kutchery 15 millimeters and Chaklala 12 millimeters.
Likewise, Murree received 36 millimeters of rain; Dera Ghazi Khan city 31 millimeters; Gujranwala 13 millimeters, Lahore city 13 millimeters; Lahore airport 15 millimeters; Sialkot city 11 millimeters, airport 3 millimeters, Gujrat six millimeters, Hafizabad three millimeters; Multan airport, Faisalabad and Mandi Bahauddin two millimeters each, and Layyah, Bahawalnagar and Sheikhupura one millimeter each.
In KP, Kakul received 38 millimeters of rain; Upper Dir 27 millimeters; Lower Dir seven millimeters, Saidu Sharif 20; Bacha Khan Airport, Peshawar 15 millimeters, city nine millimeters, Malam Jabba eight millimeters, Takht Bhai seven millimeters and Balakot four millimeters.
In AJK, the highest amount of rainfall was recorded at Muzaffarabad airport 32 millimeters, city 29 millimeters, Rawalakot 27 millimeters, Garhi Dopatta 26 millimeters and Kotli one millimeter.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, one millimeter of rain was recorded at Astore.
Light to moderate rainfall in Lahore
Intermittent light to moderate rainfall in Lahore and its surrounding areas turned the weather cooler.

Rain pounds Narowal
Roads and streets were flooded and low-lying areas turned into pools of water after heavy rain lashed Narowal and its outskirts on the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
The rain increased the problems of the flood-affected people, who are still lying under open skies and are waiting for help.
Met Office predicts more rain
On the other hand, the Met Office said that most of the areas in north-eastern Punjab and Kashmir would receive thundershowers, accompanied by strong winds, during the next 24 hours.
It further said that there might be heavy rain at some places.
Similarly, it forecast rain and strong winds at a few places in KP, Potohar belt of the Punjab, south Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan.
