Cyber patrolling of social media misusers intensified

Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), police, and NCCIA have intensified cyber patrolling and tightened the crackdown against social media misusers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The authorities have warned that forwarding unverified sectarian content is a punishable crime.
Accounts operating from other countries through social media are disturbing public peace, the authorities said.
The Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has begun blocking accounts and websites identified by the police and the CTD as “trouble-makers”.
A dedicated unit for cyber patrolling has also been established within the NCCIA.
