Heavy rain coupled with strong winds caused a Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) tower to collapse in the village of Gotiala near Kharian, disrupting telephone services in the area, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to reports, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) tower in Gotiala, a village on the outskirts of Kharian, fell on the exchange building due to the harsh weather. The incident also damaged solar panels installed on the roof of the exchange building.

The collapse of the tower temporarily cut off telephone connectivity, affecting residents who rely on the network to stay in touch with their loved ones across Pakistan and abroad.

The PTCL emergency response teams rushed to the site soon after the incident and began assessment and restoration work.

According to PTCL sources, repair work will be completed as quickly as possible to restore communication services.
