Police release men who were caught slaughtering a donkey
People had caught two men when they were slaying a donkey under the Dhok Dalal Bridge and handed them over to the local police. The locals had alleged that the accused were involved in sale of donkey meat to various hotels. Police had written a report and started an inquiry into the charges. Later, police said they investigated the charges and found the two men innocent.
Pirwadhai SHO Muhammad Awais said the accused told the police that their donkey was sick and it was in extreme pain; therefore, they slayed it. He said the owner of the donkey used to transport goods on his donkey. Later, his donkey had an accident and both of its legs were lost. He said that later the wounds in the legs of his donkey deteriorated and the donkey was in extreme pain. He said that he slayed his donkey instead of shooting it.
