SHC judges expresses displeasure over no work on M6 Motorway project

A Sindh High Court judge has expressed displeasure over non-start of work on M-6 Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway project, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The court appointed District and Sessions Judge Khairpur as magistrate and sought visit and report.

Sindh High Court Sukkur bench heard petitions related to construction of Sukkur Motorway, removal of encroachments from City Point and closure of heavy traffic on Mehran Highway.

Two-member bench of Justice Amjad Ali Bhoi and Justice Jafar Raza heard the case on Wednesday.

Petitioner Faqir Athar Abro, lawyer Shabir Shar, NHA lawyer Humayun Sheikh, GM NHA, lawyer Sohail Ahmed Khoso and Additional Advocate General Sindh Ali Raza Baloch appeared in court.

National Highway Authority’s lawyer Humayun Sheikh submitted the court that work on M-6 Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway will start in June.

The court ordered written report to be submitted along with documents.

Tender issued for construction of service road from City Point to Children's Hospital, NHA representative submitted.

The court was informed that if Sindh government provides land, work on service road will be started.

RTC Secretary's report regarding heavy traffic closure on Mehran Highway was submitted to court.

District and Sessions Judge Khairpur appointed as magistrate and has been ordered to visit Mehran Highway and submit report.

Court adjourned next hearing till February 11.
