Umarkot district administration seized a truck loaded with fertilizers on Tuesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The administration then sold the whole shipment of urea bags to the farmers at a government-fixed rate.
Experts expressed the fear that ‘artificial shortage’ of fertilizers may affect the per-acre yield of wheat in the ongoing season.
Earlier on Monday, Muzaffargarh farmers, like other growers of South Punjab, submitted their applications to the deputy director agriculture for acquiring urea.
The farmers claimed that urea bags are available at Rs2,500 against the government-fixed rate of Rs1,788.
