Three police officers martyred in Laki Marwat shooting
The funeral prayers of the martyred offered, authorities launch investigation after brazen attack on traffic officers, no arrests reported yet; Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemns incident
Laki Marwat witnessed a terror attack on its traffic police on Sunday when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire near Sarai Naurang and martyred three officers, 24NewsHD TV reported.
According to the channel report, the deceased included Sarai Naurang, Traffic In-Charge Jalal Khan and constables Azizullah and Abdullah.
The officers were immediately rushed to Naurang Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Local police confirmed that the assailants, riding motorcycles, fled the scene following the attack. Law enforcement authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to track down the perpetrators. Officials described the attack as brazen, highlighting the risks faced by traffic police officers in the area.
Security forces have been deployed to the vicinity to prevent further incidents. Later the funeral prayers of the martyred was offered in Lakki Marwat policelines and they were laid to rest with official protocol. SP Investigation, SDPOs and others attended the funeral prayers and praied for the departed soul.
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has condemned firing on traffic police personnel at Sarai Naurang area of Lakki Marwat.The minister has paid tributes to the martyred personnel namely traffic in-charge Jalal Khan and constables Azizullah and Abdullah.
He has also offered his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident, and has said that he is equally grieved over their demise.
