No fresh currency notes on this Eid: SBP

The State Bank of Pakistan on Monday said that it would not issue fresh currency notes on Eidul Fitr due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
The decision was made by the central bank’s committee on Covid-19, the SBP said in a circular.
The central bank would also not issue fresh notes to its current and former employees and subsidiaries. It advised all chief managers to disseminate the instructions to concerned officials. The decision was made as part of steps to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
