Body of man kidnapped from Islamabad found in KP

Tortured body of a young man, who was abducted in the F-6 area of the federal capital, has been found in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, raising serious questions over law enforcement's response despite extensive surveillance and security infrastructure, including costly Safe City Islamabad cameras and multiple police checkpoints.

According to details, Farrukh Afzal was the only son of his parents. He was allegedly kidnapped at his doorstep in Sector F-6, falling in the jurisdiction of Kohsar Police Station. The incident reportedly occurred when armed individuals forcibly took him away in a vehicle.

The family stated that when the kidnapping took place, a security guard present in the street attempted to intervene, but the kidnappers opened fire in response. Upon hearing the commotion, family members rushed outside and tried to rescue him, but the suspects overpowered them and fled the scene.

The victim’s father said he immediately called emergency helpline “15” and informed the Islamabad Police about the abduction.

However, the family later said they were informed by police that the body of Farrukh Afzal had been recovered from a hospital in Mardan. Police sources confirmed that officers and the victim’s father have since left for Mardan to receive the body.

The incident has sparked concern over the effectiveness of security measures in the federal capital, despite significant investments in surveillance systems and checkpoints across the city.
