Selena Gomez under fire
Hollywood Sweetheart Selena Gomez is said to have a reputation for victimizing herself for almost everything.
She has the cannons of the social media warriors pointed at her yet again over her silence on the Palestine conflict.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Selena posted a story Tuesday that read “I’ve been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence and terror that’s going on in the world. People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific,” she wrote. “We need to protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence for good. I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t. Love, Selena.”

selena gomez is being so stupid right now. she is downplaying her massive following and being hypocritical. if a post can’t help change the world why call yourself a philanthropist?? why post about mental health, blm, womens rights, american elections etc etc pic.twitter.com/iw61aOxAIf

The netizens bashed Selena over her statement that she ‘wishes’ that she could change the world, but a post made by her on social media will not.
Gomez is the most followed woman on Instagram with 430 million followers and she has also been a UNICEF ambassador since 2009.
The people were furious that she is not using her platform and the huge number of followers she has to advocate peace.
Earlier, Selena posted a comment about her ex’s current wife, Hailey Bieber, under a 10-year-old video and her followers roasted her.
This triggered the people that someone who has this much power just turns away from something so dire.
After the backlash, Selena ‘threatened’ to delete her Instagram account saying that “I’m taking a break and deleting my Instagram. I’m done. I do not support any of what’s going on”.
Though she did not delete her account, she is again being bashed for making everything about her.
The Twitter warriors are calling her out for her victim complex as she always plays the victim card.
Selena Gomez has one of the biggest followings on Instagram. For her to make this genocide about herself and not bring awareness to the oppression of Palestine AND then posting about the privilege of looking away says all we need to know about which side she is choosing. https://t.co/BIqB80GH7F

Shame on you Selena Gomez. You have 430 million followers yet people with less followers be doing so much more.
Our voices are being heard. You are just ignorant.
Selena Gomez started one of the biggest hate trains of modern times against Hailey B by chronically commenting on hate tiktoks about her, but she thinks she doesn’t have the influence to make any change? Selena be QUITE!
