The Election Commission held a meeting on Thursday and took up the matters of census and local bodies elections, 24NewsHd TV channel reported.

Interior secretary has sought one-month time in connection with the local bodies election act while the commission issued directives to the Islamabad chief commissioner to issue necessary maps for delimitations.

The meeting also reviewed new limitations in accordance with the census and the commission was briefed about impacts of new delimitation after publicising the census.

The delimitation will be done again after having included the federally administered tribal areas into KP and another 16 constituencies will be added to the provincial assemblies, the meeting was briefed.

The number of constituencies of all the national assembly will be changed under new census
