Most of the areas in Rawalpindi are without power for the last eight hours following heavy rain that lashed the city last night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

However, the WAPDA employees have failed to detect the fault.

There are reports that sparks were witnessed in power transmission lines in several localities of the city during the rain.

WAPDA officials have said that they have sent teams to the Committee Chowk, Waris Khan and Jamia Mosque roads and once the fault is detected the supply of electricity would be restored to these areas.
