Plane collided with 'unknown object' over Germany, landed safely: govt

A plane collided with an unidentified object mid-air near Germany's Leipzig airport, where police separately found a drone on the ground, but the aircraft later landed safely, an interior ministry spokesman said Wednesday.

"The plane was meant to land in Leipzig but then had to abort the landing," the spokesman told a press conference. "It then collided with an object," he said, adding that it later safely landed in Hanover.
