TCP opens tender for import of 0.5m tons of wheat: Lahore facing shortage of flour

The government has decided to import wheat as the Trading Corporation of Pakistan has opened tender for the import of 500,000 tons of wheat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources said that the approval for the tender would be sought from the Economic Coordination Committee which is meeting later today.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will chair the ECC meeting.
On the other hand, the flour crisis in the open market has deepened in Lahore as flour mills have been given less wheat quota.
The merchants said that they didn’t get supply of flour for the last five days.
Lahore is facing a daily shortage of 60,000 sacks of flours.
