NCCIA raids illegal call center in Karachi, seizes hacking devices

A team of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) raided a call center in Karachi and arrested five accused and impounded hacking devices and mobile phones, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Additional Director NCCIA Tariq Nawaz said that the owner of the call center Jawad Khan is residing abroad. 

Additional Director Tariq Nawaz said that they raided the call center after receiving credible information that a network is being operated from a call center which is located in the Bara Bukhari area of Defence Phase-6.

The arrested accused were identified as Alwin, Malik Nisar, Sheraz Tariq, Sheharyar Tariq, and Wise.

Tariq Nawaz said that the accused were involved in digital fraud and transferred the amount to other accounts after hacking the bank accounts of innocent people.

He said that the NCCIA team also seized 11 CPUs, 1 laptop, and 13 mobile phones, and important documents.

CIA arrests accused for hacking women’s bank accounts

Central Investigation Agency (CIA) Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested an accused who received an extortion amount from women after hacking their bank accounts.

SSP SIU Mohammad Imran said that the accused was identified as Osama. The accused collected the extortion amount from women after harassing them.

The accused received extortion money amounting to Rs1 million from a woman. The SIU also recovered a mobile phone from his possession, which he used for the collection of extortion money.

He said that the accused is a police record holder. The SIU registered a case against the accused and started scrutinizing his record.
