CAA issues three-day NOTAM as Basant festival returns to Lahore
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for three days in view of the Basant festival scheduled to be held in Lahore from February 6 to February 8.
According to the NOTAM issued by the CAA Headquarters on Thursday, special caution has been advised for all flight operations in Lahore airspace during the festival period.
The NOTAM directs pilots to remain extremely vigilant during take-off and landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport, particularly during low-altitude flights.
It further warns that pilots should exercise extreme caution due to kite flying activities, especially during landing phases, as these could pose a potential hazard to aircraft operations.
The CAA said the advisory has been issued to ensure the safety of passengers, crew, and aircraft amid increased kite-flying activity associated with the Basant celebrations.
